On May 13, 2026, the tender for Hubei Jinshenglan Metallurgical Technology Co., Ltd.'s 1680mm hot rolling line project was opened.
The project is located within the Jinshenglan steel plant in Jiayu County, Xianning City, Hubei Province.
The main scope of work involves constructing a new 1,680mm hot-rolled plate production line with an annual design capacity of 4 million tonnes, along with supporting auxiliary facilities.
The work includes Section 1 (civil works, steel structure, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic installations for the feeding and furnace areas, as well as auxiliary mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic installations) and Section 3 (civil works and steel structure for auxiliary facilities). The construction period is 11 months.
Once completed, the project will extend the local steel industry structure toward higher value-added rolling and deep processing, improve production capacity and efficiency, and support the development of a low-carbon metallurgical cluster worth tens of billions of yuan in the region.
At present, preliminary work such as site leveling and detailed surveying is progressing steadily at the project site. Transport vehicles are shuttling back and forth, mechanical equipment is operating continuously, and construction personnel are working through sunny and rainy days to meet tight deadlines, ensuring that all key milestones are advanced in an orderly manner. According to the established schedule, the project is expected to begin trial production this year.
